Rankbench legal
Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use Rankbench. In plain terms: use it honestly, own what you publish, pay for what you subscribe to, and either of us can walk away.
Last updated 5 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and CodeDesign Inc., a Delaware corporation trading as Rankbench (“Rankbench”, “we”, “us”), covering the website and product at rankbench.io. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it.
What Rankbench does
Rankbench audits websites, turns search data into content plans, drafts and publishes articles, and connects site owners who want to collaborate on guest posts and backlink exchanges. Features change as the product develops. We may add, alter or withdraw them, and we will not remove something you are paying for without telling you.
Your account
- Give accurate details and keep them current.
- Keep your password to yourself. Anything done with your account is treated as done by you.
- You must be 16 or older, and able to enter a contract.
- If you invite other people into your workspace, you are responsible for what they do there.
What you may not do
- Break the law, or help anyone else to.
- Publish or place content you do not have the rights to, or that is defamatory, deceptive or harmful.
- Use Rankbench to attack, overload, scrape at abusive volume, or gain unauthorised access to any system — ours or anyone else’s.
- Claim ownership of a website you do not control, or verify one on somebody else’s behalf without their permission.
- Resell or rebrand the service without our written agreement.
- Interfere with another member’s use of the product, or misrepresent a collaboration to them.
We may suspend or close an account that does any of this. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
Your content
Everything you put into Rankbench stays yours. You give us the permission we need to run the service with it: to store it, display it to the people you share it with, process it through the tools you use, and publish it where you ask us to publish it. That permission ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where we must keep a copy by law.
You are responsible for what you publish. Drafts produced by Rankbench are a starting point, not finished work — read them before they go out.
Collaborations between members
Guest posts, backlink exchanges and partnerships are agreements between the members involved. Rankbench provides the tools, the record and the monitoring; it is not a party to what you agree, and it does not guarantee that the other side will keep their side of it. Both sides approve anything before it goes live.
Connected services
When you connect a service such as Google Search Console or a content management system, you confirm you are allowed to connect it, and you authorise Rankbench to access it as described in our privacy policy. Those services have their own terms; we are not responsible for them, for their availability, or for changes they make.
Paid plans
- The free parts of Rankbench stay free. Paid features are described on the pricing page and charged at the prices shown there, or at the price separately agreed with you.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the period you chose until you cancel. Cancel any time and the paid features run to the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Payments are handled by our payment provider. Prices exclude taxes unless stated, and you are responsible for any that apply.
- Fees already paid are not refunded except where the law requires it, or where we have clearly failed to provide what you paid for.
- A free trial ends on the date you were told. Nothing is charged without a card being added, and if none is added the paid features simply switch off.
- We may change our prices. An increase takes effect at your next renewal, and we will tell you before it does.
Our intellectual property
Rankbench, its software, its design and its name remain ours. These terms give you permission to use the service, not ownership of any part of it. Feedback you send us we may use freely, without owing you anything for it.
Availability
We work to keep Rankbench available and correct, but we do not promise uninterrupted service or particular search results. Rankings depend on search engines, not on us. The service is provided “as is”, without warranties beyond those the law will not let us exclude.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost revenue or lost data. Our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you published through Rankbench, or because you broke these terms, you will cover our reasonable costs in dealing with it.
Ending it
You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering the service entirely with reasonable notice — in which case we will refund any fees covering a period you will no longer receive. When an account closes, access ends and data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and will change the date at the top when we do. If a change materially affects you we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use Rankbench afterwards means you accept the new terms; if you do not, close your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that state have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. Nothing here removes a consumer’s right to bring a claim where they live, if the law of their country gives them one.
General
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something once does not waive it. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them to a buyer of the business. These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us about the service.
